There’s something truly special about traditions, especially the ones that bring creativity, laughter, and community together. Our much-loved Egg Decorating Contest is one of those traditions, and we’re so thrilled to have welcomed it back for its second year here at Little Pips.
This wonderful event first began last year, when our Pre-School at Pocklington School was still open. It quickly became a roaring success, an opportunity for children, families, and staff alike to dip into their creativity and celebrate something joyful together. The memories we made were so special that we knew we had to bring it back.

Now, in our new home at Little Pips, we wanted to make the event bigger and better than ever, and it certainly didn’t disappoint!
We have been absolutely blown away by the entries this year. Wow! It’s clear we have some incredibly artistic Pips and parents in our community. From self-expressive, multi-media designs to intricately planned and beautifully executed story scenes, every single egg was a true work of art. The imagination and effort on display were simply outstanding.
To make the occasion even more memorable, we were delighted to welcome our town mayor, Roly, who kindly joined us to award certificates and prizes. It was a lovely morning, and having such a special visitor in our nursery really added to the excitement. Seeing our space come alive as a warm hub of activity, and sharing that with members of our wider community, felt truly special.

Some of our Oaks group had the chance to introduce themselves to Roly, proudly show him their creations, and even take part in their own internal voting before receiving their certificates and prizes. A huge thank you also goes to Bear and Rose for providing such lovely prizes, it made the day even more magical for the children!
Events like this remind us just how important community is. Bringing everyone together, celebrating creativity, and making lasting memories is what Little Pips is all about. It’s been such a joyful experience watching our children and families let their creative flair shine.
We’re already looking forward to next year…
Year 3 is coming—watch this space! 🐣✨
